I really would like an electro-acoustic guitar, around 300 to 500 dollars. But I want something in the way of vintage sunburst, but all I could find in the style I liked was a John Lennon one which I didn't really care for. Any suggestions?
well it all depends on the brand you choose. Brands like gibson, martin, and taylor sell for thousands of dollars. Even though people say epiphone does not have good quality they do not know what they are talking about. ephiphone (gibsons lower...

String theory: All things acoustic at Echo Park's Fretted Frog guitar shop »
“One of my best memories was when I was visiting my aunt,” reminisces Belloir. “She collected all kinds of music instruments and a new one appeared at each visit. I loved discussing her Hammond vintage organ or learning to handle a harp or violin. Later in my teens, I felt the same kind of happiness when I was hanging in my local music store. With music stores growing bigger and small stores showing more and more a “selective” attitude, that feeling got lost. Maybe my main inspiration is to create a place where everyone can experience that kind of happiness.”
That said, Belloir selects his Fretted Frog offerings accordingly. Instead of Guitar Center sprawl, he maintains a strict philosophy of working with other small businesses and custom shops. Researching through Internet forums, dedicated websites and word of mouth, Belloir was able to track down guitar-makers who specialized in the type of supply he was looking to stock.
“My main criteria is a good sound and an alternative design of sound, playability, in-board electronics and look,” says Belloir. “My suppliers are coming from everywhere, but what they all have in common is that they're appreciated by many guitarists, around the world.”
