I only Have three Harmonica's, On in G (its not good) C (decent, it was my first) and D (Very Good) but i would like to complete my set and possibly replace my not as good ones, would this be a good set to get? If not then what is? I would prefer...
That set you are referring to contains all 12 keys. You have the best of both worlds since oyu have the 12 different tones. As far as pricing, I find that inexpensive and its a good kit.

My husband loves music and any type of musical instrument. He has been talking a lot about harmonicas lately so I was thinking of getting him one for fathers day. Through my researching I had concluded that Hohner is one of the best brands to get....
As a beginner harmonica it's a good deal. Just fun to accompany other instruments.
If he's musically inclined and you think he'll get moderately serious about playing it, you might consider buying one (not a set) that costs $20+....

I just bought a Piedmont Blues Harmonica set of 7 different keys and am looking to learn how to play... are there any good sites for learning the harmonica... I would prefer something that is free.
First thing you need to do is get a better harmonica. Then look in my profile for harmonica questions and answers. Everything is free except for the harmonica, which is going to cost you ten cents an hour to play no matter how good or bad the...

Key-of-C harp great for blues, rock, country, folk, and many other styles of music
I'm in the process of learning the harmonica and am interested in trying out different keys. I currently have a Hohner in C and know that I want an A for sure. I've found the Piedmont blues set and was wondering if it is worth it or if I should...
I haven't played these, but from everything I've heard/read they are not worth getting. They seem prone to defects, and the plastic housing doesn't sound appealing to me. Several reviewers have said it produces a "plastic" tone.

Esquire's AJ Jacobs 'edutains' in his new book
He coos, he digeridoos, he pole dances, he plays harmonica — without a harmonica — and he’s funny, too. In his latest book of bold experimentation, “My Life as an Experiment,” A.J. Jacobs, editor-at-large for Esquire, lives as a woman, becomes a human guinea pig and otherwise provides an edutaining look at things we humans tend to hold dear — and then he turns it all askew.

Read about the experiments he underwent for this book on his website, www.AJJacobs.com.

Q. The latest book or movie that made you cry?

A. Can it be a speech? I just re-read Lou Gehrig’s “Luckiest Man on the Face of the Earth” speech on Wikipedia. (My 6-year-old son keeps asking me for baseball stories, and I ran out, so I had to resort to scouring the Internet.) That speech is so beautiful and moving.

I love this line: “When you have a wonderful mother-in-law who takes sides with you in squabbles with her own daughter — that’s something.” My mother-in-law once did that, and it was indeed something.

The fictional character most like you?

Tigger or Eeyore, depending on the day. Sometimes I feel like I can jump farther than a kangaroo. But if I skimp on sleep or have too many deadlines, my Eeyore is in the ascendant.

Your ideal brain food?

For one of my previous books, I read the Encyclopedia Britannica (research for “The Know-It-All”). There must be a thousand movie ideas in the encyclopedia. Like the story of the beautiful Belle Boyd, who was a spy for the Confederates during the Civil War but then fell in love with a Union soldier. It’s “Romeo and Juliet” set in the Civil War.

You want to be remembered for ...?

Having a father who holds the world record for the most number of footnotes in a law review article (4,824).

Of those who’ve come before, the most inspirational are?

I love George Plimpton, the writer who would get himself punched in the face by pro boxers for a story.

But I’m particularly in awe of Nellie Bly, the wonderful 19th-century female journalist and the pioneer of “immersion journalism” (or whatever you want to call it). She committed herself to an insane asylum to expose the abuses there. She also traveled around the world in less than 80 days in an attempt to replicate the feats in Jules Verne’s novel.

Your hidden talents …?

I’m a hand cooer, which, if you don’t know, means I can play songs by blowing into my hands. For a while, I owned the world record for longest sustained hand coo note. But my friend beat me. We’re still friends. Barely.
