If it has gone out of tune it is probably due to deformed reeds.I would have thought it would be cheaper to get a new one

I would use it to play the blues. So far i have a dinky little hohner C harp, its alright, but i wonder if theres another brand out there. Should i get a chromatic harmonica or what?

agreed, A Lee Oskar is a good start, they are good quality, and easy to play, but as for Keys, if you are playing blues, E and G and NOT good ones to buy. (in cross harp they would play in B and D)

Beginners tend to work with diatonic harps -- just the 10 holes without the button on the side. Leave that model to Stevie Wonder until you can play like him.

I am buying a harmonica as a present, and have narrowed it down to 2 options. One is a set of Hohner 'Blues Band' harmonicas in a carry case, in keys C,D,E,F,G,A and Bb for $80 NZ$
The other is a Hohner 'Koch' Chromatic harmonica. In key G, 40

try to get the ones with plastic near the mouth so he doesn't cut his lips or the reeds get waterlogged. any decent harp starts at 20 bucks. this ain't 1971.

Ok I just had a look at a new chromatic Harp and yes I know that Hohner Harmonicas are the best its just I wanna try somthing differant. so does any one know what the swan harps are like? (and by the way its a big seven inch, 16 hole chromatic...
