In the untimely 1900s, silent films were usually accompanied by piano or a theater organ that would emulate the mood of the story and the characters.
The Los Angeles Theatre Organ Community and the Laurel and Hardy Fan Appreciation Club Early to Bed Tent offer an opportunity to travel back to those days gone by during "An Afternoon of Silents" Saturday in South Pasadena.
The effect come what may will include screenings of a clutch of classic silent comedies, including a Laurel & Hardy film, shown with a helping hand-cranked projector and accompanied by live theater organ music. There will also be a sing-along slide show.
