Marimba Band and Barbecue
On September 19, the wodge at the Boundary County Fairgrounds will be hopping with a barbecue supper from 5pm to 6:30 pm and a concert/dance with "Sesitshaya Marimba" from 6:30pm to 8pm. Convey your dancing shoes and the whole family. With this joyful, rhythmic, non-stop music from South Africa and the Caribbean it is almost weird to sit still. Even the most reticent will find their fingers snapping as the marimbas, from a huge bass one to the smaller "soprano" marimbas, take up the beat. This concert is a fundraiser for the pattern a BF marimba band and the instruments needed for that band! The barbecue will benefit the youth of Trinity Lutheran and BF Concerted Methodist churches who are serving the meal.A popular marimba band in the Inland Northwest, Sesitshaya Marimba scarcely played at the Tumbleweed Music Festival in the Tri-Cities over Labor Day weekend and will be at the Spokane Folk Festival again in October.
