I've heard that a grand piano is a must for those majoring in music, because an just just doesn't have the capabilities required to play certain pieces of music with the right technique. I was even-handed curious what my fellow musicians thought...
Yes and no.
No, a grand piano isn't totally necessary for a student pianist. A good upright is a fine practice instrument through a very high level of knack.
Yes, at some point, you will have to practice on a grand...
Exact for a really small concert.
I have a unequalled grand piano, but am downsizing my living space for a couple of years. I have a large storage space at the new place but it is not air conditioned and it is always very dry (no humidity at all) and sometimes very hot (up to 100...
I would have reservations it. The heat might be too much for it. Call a piano dealer and ask them. m

I'd indeed prefer a grand piano but I'm afraid I cannot afford it and people say that a good upright piano is much better than a small baby grand at a cheaper cost. I have a miserly budget and can anyone recommend a good, high-quality upright or a...

The serial count is 53640 on my Chappell baby grand piano. I estimate it is about 90 years old (just a guess) but I am wondering if anyone knows a website that could let something be known me the year my piano was made? Thanks in advance.
I would look at the website: http://www.besbrodepianos.co.uk/pianoser ialnumber/chappel.htm
It states that your piano was manufactured between 1910 and 1920. Consumable luck.

If it's a shorter move, say, across the...

It infects everyone with its wonderful exuberance.
Since 1867, what is now called the College-Conservatory of Music and is part of the University of Cincinnati, has been known for its excellence, but unfortunately not well known enough to vie with more famous schools - New York's Juilliard, for example.
When Douglas Knehans became dean last September, he set out to change that.
"My goal for this school is to be a global player, to be one of the best music schools in the world," he told Teichner , "and indeed, it really already is."
But how to get the over the moon marvellous to recognize it? Even
