I want to buy a clarinet and I was looking at a Buffet.
I was wondering if it was a good brand.
I know there are different models..
so which are the best?
and how good is a b45 mouth piece.
I played clarinet in high
For your purposes the Evette with a B45 will work just fine. If you get really into it again, you experiment with different equipment.

I am buying a professional clarinet and I've read about the difference between greenline and grenadilla, but I'm still not sure which to buy. I want comments from people that really know which one is better. From what I have read I think greenline is
If you are more into marching season, and an all around strong and durable one, go greenline. But if you do mostly symphonic work, go grenadilla because it has a very characteristic clarinet sound, and the pitch is a bit better...
It is a 'plastic' clarinet, not wood. The cork does not look dried out, but maybe it is. So I have greased each cork joint tonight. It is weird because I can wobble it easily at the mouthpiece, the barrel, the middle, and even the bell ! I...
I have always been told that Buffet-Crampon is the best clarinet - I have a R-13 and RC pair... but I saw pictures of the Cannonball clarinets with the beautiful turned wood bell and neck - are they any good?...
It's probably not fair to say Buffet is "the best" but it is among them. Leblanc Paris and Selmer Paris also make some very fine clarinets that hold right up there depending on individual preferences.
Patricola and...
I'm looking to buy a professional clarinet in the 2000-3000 dollar range. I came across the Leblanc Concerto II and the Buffet R13 wooden clarinet. Which clarinet is a better buy (they need to have good tone)? Also, are there any other wooden...
The Buffet R-13 has an excellent reputation, and I would go with it. However, you might want to go to a dealer and try playing each. If you decide on the R-13 then see if the dealer will let you play on several of them, and pick the one you like...
27 DCamps strike up the band
As a music lover — from Brahms to Bix to Billie Holiday — I had never thought anything like this could bless our ears.
It’s amazing that 27 performers — all related — make up a band that will play a brassy concert during Sunday’s annual Bettendorf Fourth of July extravaganza.
The 27 musicians are members of the DCamp Family Band. All are closely related. Dad, sons and their wives and their children and so on.
They gather someplace in America every Fourth of July for a reunion and to play a concert.
“It’s tradition,” says Charles DCamp of Davenport, the godfather of the talented bunch. He hangs on to that word — tradition-n-n-n.
“If not for music and the Fourth of July, we’d never all see each other.”
They come to the Quad-Cities this year from 10 states, some as far away as California. Trumpets and trombones and tubas, clarinets and drums.
“The DCamp band grows every year as the family grows,” says Charles, a little smugly.
